What to expect?

4-session Cycles Tailored to student’s interest and age!

Our virtual one-on-one series are designed in 4-session cycles. These sessions are 60 minute virtual video calls that can be scheduled weekly or biweekly. You will get a chance to choose from a list of projects and during the 4 weeks an ArchForKids educator will work with your student to discuss and demonstrate concepts related to architecture, engineering, urban planning and interior design. By the end of the 4 weeks the main project will be completed and you will have a 3D model of your own design and making!

Choose your own adventure!

New students can choose from the list of Cycle 1 project topics. Once a student has completed a 4-session cycle then they can choose from any of the project topics listed in both Cycle 1 and 2 for future cycles. Each project in our list will be tailored by the educator to suit a student’s age and grade level.

F.A.Q.

How do I get the materials I need for my sessions?

Once you register and book your program we will send you some pdf documents with information about your project including a list of suggested materials. Most projects use found and recycled materials such as cardboard, recyclable boxes, construction paper, aluminum foil and more. None of our projects will require specialized equipment or materials that you cannot find at your local supermarket or around your house.

What happens if I miss a session?

We understand that life happens and sometimes you may need to cancel a session. We ask that you let us know at least 24 hours in advance so we can let your educator know. If you miss a session without any prior notice we will be unable to refund the session cost.

Where do the sessions take place?

These sessions are completely virtual and take place on the Zoom platform. This means you can set up for your program anywhere you have enough space to work on your project! Once your registration is confirmed you will receive a zoom room link which will be the same for all 4 of your sessions.

How long is each session?

Each session will be 1 hour in length. By the end of all 4 sessions you will have received 4 hours total of instruction and project building time.

What if a sibling or friend wants to join in on my program?

If you want to bring an extra student along to your session that is fine! We have an additional student charge of $20 per session. When you book and register your cycle you can add on the extra student in the extras section of the booking form. If you plan to bring an extra along every session please add this program extra 4 times. If you want to bring more than 2 extra students please reach out to us at hello@archforkids.com before registering so we can make sure your educator is prepared and that a one-on-one series is the right program type for you.

What if I am late to my session?

Life happens and most of us run late on occasion! Our educators operate on a 15 minute grace period. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your session without notice or communication then we cannot guarantee your educator will still be available and the session will be counted as a missed session.

What if I want to choose a topic not on the list?

We ask new students to stick to the available programs in Cycle 1. Returning students have the option to select a different topic that is not available in the project topics listed for Cycle 1 & 2. We do ask that you discuss what topic you are interested in with your educator or our admin team before booking. This way we can make sure that the project you selected will be suitable for your age and the program session lengths.

What if I still have questions about something?

If you still have a question please do not hesitate to reach out to us by email to hello@archforkids.com and we will get back to you with an answer shortly!

The classes have been such a confidence-builder for [my son]. As he is doing 1st grade via homeschool this year, we have welcomed the opportunities for him to connect with various teachers and have the opportunity for STEAM enrichment. It’s been amazing watching his progress just in a couple of months of participation. We really appreciate the dedication of your team and the positive feedback he hears both in the session and after. The concepts you are sharing are just so wonderful for kids like [my son] who love creativity and building!

I highly recommend ArchForKids to anyone looking to introduce Architecture and Design in a fun, innovative, and “hands-on minds-on” way. I believe in the organization’s mission and their specialize approach can make your vision come to life, even better than you expected. – Tatiana Garcia, SEO Scholars NYC Partner

I could not recommend ArchForKids programs more. Throughout the past 2 years my daughter’s confidence has grown so much from her experience working with the ArchForKids team. She has always been interested in interior design and has enjoyed getting to learn more about the topics that interest her and the instructor feedback has helped her to improve her design thinking skills while also receiving positive feedback in a supportive environment.
